ABHMS March 2023 Justice Dialogues: “Deterring Violence: Turning the Tide Toward Safer Communities.”

The violence that is occurring within our homes, schools and neighborhoods is a symptom of the hostility that is present among us. In the United States and Puerto Rico, the statistics of violence are tragically high and disruptive to our quality of community. Please join this conversation that will be introduced by Rev. Michael McBride.

Pastor Michael McBride (known as “Pastor Mike”) is the Director for the Lifelines to Healing/LIVE FREE Campaign with Faith In Action, a campaign led by hundreds of faith congregations throughout the United States committed to addressing gun violence and mass incarceration of young people of color. Pastor Mike is one among national leaders in the movement to implement public health and community centered gun violence prevention programs, which have contributed to 50% reduction of gun related homicides in Oakland, CA and many other cities across the country.
